Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury might soon meet in the ring, with Eddie Hearn disclosing that the British duo could have not just one, but two bouts against each other.
Eddie Hearn has indicated that a two-fight agreement could be in the works for Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, with the possibility of one of these epic encounters being hosted at Wembley Stadium.
Following his rapid victory over Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia, Joshua has seen a significant portion of his recent matches, three out of the last five, take place in the region.
Fury, having also competed against Ngannou in Saudi Arabia, plans a return there for a highly anticipated bout with Oleksandr Usyk in May. Should Fury emerge victorious, it could pave the way for a showdown with Joshua.
Despite growing concerns among fans that a potential match might not happen in the UK due to the financial allure offered by Saudi investor Turki Alalshikh for Middle Eastern fights, Hearn suggests that a UK-based fight between Joshua and Fury is something Alalshikh is considering.
“This is a gentleman called Turki Alalshikh, who is obviously a very influential figure in sports and entertainment in Saudi Arabia,” Hearn said on The Sports Agents podcast, according to Daily Mail.
“He’s also the biggest fight fan I’ve ever met. And quite amazingly, he’s now talking about staging two Fury vs AJ fights – one in Saudi Arabia and one at Wembley Stadium.”
