British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua recently triumphed over Francis Ngannou in the ‘Knockout Chaos’ bout in Riyadh.
Former football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic was recently in the news for being seen with British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua following Joshua’s remarkable win against Francis Ngannou.
Joshua, with Nigerian ancestry on his mother’s side and Irish-Nigerian heritage on his father’s, captured widespread media attention after his surprising victory against the Cameroonian fighter in Riyadh.
Ibrahimovic, who has been linked with football greats like Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldo Nazario, and Jose Mourinho, has now included Joshua among his prominent connections.
Ibrahimovic raised eyebrows with a tweet on his profile on X (previously Twitter), teasing a hypothetical boxing match outcome between himself and Joshua, according to Soccernet.
Prior to Joshua’s significant fight, he had encounters with Al Nassr striker Cristiano Ronaldo and his boxing adversary Tyson Fury during an event organized by Turki Alakshikh, a consultant for the Saudi Royal Court.
After the fight, Jose Mourinho, formerly of Chelsea and AS Roma, was seen congratulating Joshua on his decisive win against Ngannou.
Now, with the fight behind him, Joshua has resumed training, eyeing a summer bout, likely against Filip Hrgovic in June, showcasing his continuous commitment to pursuing greatness in boxing.
There have also been rumors of a fight between Joshua and Fury later in the year. However, this requires The Gypsy King to win his upcoming match against Oleksandr Usyk.
