Luka Doncic reached an extraordinary milestone in the Dallas Mavericks game against the Miami Heat.
The Dallas Mavericks advanced their season record to 35-28 on Thursday night with a 114-108 win against the Miami Heat.
However, the highlight of the game was Mavericks guard Luka Doncic’s historic achievement, according to The Comeback.
Doncic ended the night with 35 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists, marking his fifth consecutive triple-double and his fourth consecutive game scoring at least 35 points, a new NBA milestone.
In the first four games of March, Doncic has managed an impressive average of 38.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 10.7 assists.
Throughout the game against the Heat, Doncic’s performance was exceptional, notably a remarkable contested three-pointer in the fourth quarter as the shot clock expired, regaining the lead for the Mavericks.
This latest triple-double is Doncic’s 15th for the season, placing him third in the league, behind Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings (22) and Nikola Jokić of the Denver Nuggets (19). It also represents the 70th triple-double of Doncic’s career, making him the ninth player in NBA history to reach this milestone.
Should Doncic achieve a triple-double with 30 or more points in his next game, he would set another record with six consecutive games. Currently, he shares the record of five consecutive 30+ point triple-doubles with Russell Westbrook (2017).
This victory brings the Mavericks just one game shy of overtaking the Kings for the seventh seed in the Western Conference, aiming to steer clear of the Play-In Tournament.
