Cristiano Ronaldo Admits Mistake

Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted to making a mistake while emphasizing his respect for the “cultures of all countries.”

After serving a suspension in the Saudi Professional League, the Al-Nassr superstar vowed not to make any obscene gestures on the field again.

His recent suspension forced him to watch a game from the stands due to such behavior.

“I will always respect the cultures of all countries, just as I have done up to now. However, what people see doesn’t always reflect reality,” Ronaldo stated during a press conference, according to Sport1.

“As I have said before and will repeat, it’s clear that I will not do this again in this country, but in Europe, it’s quite normal.”

Cristiano Ronaldo also claimed that sometimes it’s hard to keep his passion in check. He can get caught up in the moment, which makes him react on the field. But now, that’s over, says the Portuguese star.

“Sometimes, the passion and excitement of the game can lead us to make some mistakes,” he said.

Ronaldo was suspended for placing his left hand to his ear and moving his right hand back and forth in front of his lower body on the field. The gesture seemed to be aimed at Al-Shabab fans, apparently provoked by chants for “Messi.”

The Portuguese star has been very successful in Saudi Arabia. His move to Al-Nassr triggered a wave of players also transferring to the Saudi Pro League.

It’s expected that several Saudi clubs will spend big on new signings this summer. Therefore, Ronaldo can likely look forward to the company of more big stars.
