Novak Djokovic mentioned that he’s considering all possibilities regarding his participation in the 2028 Olympics, yet he’s unsure about “how many chances” he has left to compete.

Securing an Olympic gold medal remains the one major achievement that has evaded the 36-year-old throughout his impressive tennis career. By the time the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles roll around, Djokovic will be 41 years old.

During a press conference before the Indian Wells tournament, Djokovic discussed his thoughts on playing in the 2028 Olympics.

“Everything is on the cards. I just don’t know how many cards I have left, you know. Let’s see. It’s still very far to think about Los Angeles Olympic Games,” the Serbian said, according to Tennis365.

“But the thought of it excites me, of course. Love to play that. As we know, Olympics come every four years. I can’t really commit to that yet.”

“I think I’ll take it year by year and just see how [my] body serves me, how passionate and committed I am really, how much motivation do I really have to do what I’ve done most of my life – day in, day out.”

Djokovic’s most notable Olympic performance was at his first appearance in 2008 in Beijing, where he won a bronze medal by beating James Blake, following a semi-final loss to Rafael Nadal. He also competed for the bronze in 2012 and 2020 but came up short, and he was eliminated in the first round in 2016.
