This astonishing match-up is now confirmed. Boxing legend Mike Tyson (57) will return to the ring to face Jake Paul, who is 30 years his junior!
On July 20th, this sensational bout between the multiple-time boxing champion and the influencer will take place. The AT&T Stadium in Dallas, which can hold over 100,000 spectators, will host the event. Netflix will stream the fight.
“Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is a dream match-up that happens once in a lifetime, and I expect it to be the most-watched boxing event in modern history,” promoter Nakisa Bidarian announced, according to Sportbild.
Mike Tyson was quoted in a press release saying, “Over the years, Paul has significantly evolved as a boxer. So, it will be a lot of fun to see what the determination and ambition of a young man can do against the experience and skill of a GOAT.”
He added, “It’s a moment where things come full circle, and it will be more than exciting to watch since I started him on his boxing journey during the undercard of my fight against Roy Jones and now plan to end it.”
Tyson last fought on November 28, 2020, in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr., which ended in a draw. Jake Paul fought in the undercard of that event against former NBA player Nate Robinson.
Jake Paul stated, “Just two and a half years after founding MVP, we’re on the verge of producing the biggest fight in history. It’s a fight in the USA’s largest NFL stadium, broadcast live on the world’s largest streaming platform—a testament to everything we’ve achieved in such a short time.”
Paul has been boxing since early 2020. So far, his record stands at nine wins out of ten fights. His only defeat came on February 26th last year against Tommy Fury, the half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
