The French legend Zinedine Zidane is being linked with a new major team.
The 51-year-old Zinedine Zidane has been without a coaching job since his success with Real Madrid.
Now, the Spanish newspaper Marca claims that Bayern Munich has contacted Zidane in an attempt to bring him to the Allianz Arena.
Coach Thomas Tuchel is leaving Bayern after the current season, and speculation about his successor has long been underway.
A couple of weeks ago, Zidane opened up about his future as a coach. The Frenchman believes he will return to the coaching bench. “At the moment I am doing other things, but let’s see. I am sure I will come back. I would like that,” Zidane told Sky Sports Italia during an event in Rome on Monday evening.
Zidane was the coach of Real Madrid from 2016 to 2018 and then from 2019 to 2021.
The 51-year-old led the all-whites to three Champions League titles and two La Liga trophies.
Rumors about the Premier League
There have also been rumors that Zidane could continue his coaching career in the Premier League, where several managers may potentially receive their notice this summer.
Among others, the French legend has been linked with Manchester United, which is undergoing a horrific season that could end up being the worst in the club’s history.
Therefore, it is not unthinkable that Dutchman Erik ten Hag could be fired at the end of the season. Whether Zidane would be interested in taking over as manager at Old Trafford is, of course, hard to predict.
