Manchester United is set to undergo major changes this summer, and manager Erik ten Hag has decided to get rid of two of the biggest stars.
Manchester United plans to part ways with two of the biggest stars on the team. as the club intends to offload Brazilian Casemiro (32) and Frenchman Raphaël Varane (30) after the season, according to talkSPORT.
The two are reportedly at the top of the “exit list” within the club’s hierarchy.
Center-back Varane joined Manchester United from Real Madrid in 2021. He spent ten years at Real Madrid and won everything with the Spanish team.
Casemiro arrived at Old Trafford the following year in what was a very surprising transfer. The 32-year-old had a very strong start at United, but the midfield maestro has stagnated this season.
Several other players may also leave Old Trafford this summer, as the English club needs to sell off part of the squad if they hope to buy new players after this season.
Consequently, there have been reports that up to 12 players could leave the English club this summer. Some of them have expiring contracts, meaning United won’t earn any money from their departures.
Other players are still under contract and can therefore be sold. Several of them could even be sold for considerable amounts, which could make it easier to comply with Financial Fair Play rules in connection with summer purchases.
