The legend Tiger Woods completely collapsed, marking his worst round ever in The Masters.

On Friday, Tiger Woods, aged 48, made history by clearing the cut line for the 24th consecutive time. However, on Saturday, he completely collapsed, marking his worst round ever in The Masters.

“I neither hit nor putted well,” he sighed afterward, according to Aftonbladet.

It started off stable for Woods as he began with pars on the first three holes. A bogey on the fourth was followed by the day’s first birdie on the fifth.

But then the nightmare began, which shattered the legend’s dreams of a top finish at Augusta National:

  • Bogey on the sixth.
  • Double bogey on the seventh.
  • Double bogey on the eighth.
  • Bogey on the ninth.

Worst round ever

42 strokes for the first nine holes were his worst-ever score on Augusta National’s front nine, and the back nine didn’t fare much better.

Bogeys continued to drop in more than regularly and when all was said and done, he had scored a total of 82 strokes, ten over par. This is his worst score ever in a round at The Masters, his previous worst being 78 strokes from 2022.

“It didn’t feel good during the warm-up and it was the same out on the course. I hit the ball to places I know you shouldn’t hit it. And then I missed a lot of putts. Simple, makeable putts. I missed a lot of them,” he said afterward.

In pain

The 23 holes Tiger Woods was forced to play on Friday took their toll. When asked when he felt the most pain in his body on Saturday, he responded: “All day.”

Woods was a total of eleven over par after three rounds and 18 strokes off the lead. But he did not plan to fold.

“My team will make sure I’m ready for tomorrow (Sunday). It will be a long night’s sleep and a long warm-up, but I will be ready,” he said.
