Tom Brady Reveals He Wants to Return to the NFL, But Only With These Two Teams

Tom Brady admitted that he wouldn’t oppose playing in the NFL again, though he only mentioned two franchises to which he would give a resounding “Yes.”

Tom Brady hasn’t ruled out a return to the NFL, but he would have some conditions for resuming his role as a quarterback in the professional American football league. He would only consider returning to two franchises that could prompt a comeback for the legend.

“Patriots, Raiders, you never know, but I wouldn’t oppose it. I’ll always stay in shape, and if I can pass the ball, I wouldn’t oppose it. It would be like Michael Jordan coming back,” the record-holder for the most Super Bowl wins in the NFL said, according to Fox Sports.

Brady won seven rings, six with the Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

When did Tom Brady retire?

Brady, aged 46, announced his retirement from the NFL on February 1, 2023, after a 23-year career, 20 of which were spent with New England, and three with Tampa Bay.

Even before last season, there was speculation that Brady might return to the NFL to play for the San Francisco 49ers, the team he supported in his youth, or the Las Vegas Raiders, but ultimately that did not happen.

The NFL must approve Brady’s return

The possibility, raised by the 15-time Pro Bowl selectee, would have to go through NFL approval, especially since his acceptance as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders is pending.

“I don’t know if they would let me do it if I become an NFL team owner, I don’t know, but what I can say at this moment is that if it happens I maybe wouldn’t oppose returning,” clarified the future Hall of Famer.

Last March, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed that Brady’s path to becoming an owner of the Raiders is on the right track.

“We go through a very thorough process. We have been in touch with his side and I think they have been making progress,” Goodell noted a couple of weeks ago.
